A young woman on death row - not me as I am now but it felt like I was her in the dream - but it wasn’t me. She was younger and bossier and American. She was in the death chamber trying to make last minute demands. There was a kind social worker beside her responding to her demands. She was already strapped down to the gurney so it was definitely too late for anything but the social worker and there was this Asian woman in the room as well; they were nice and kind with their responses. Ultimately it was time for death so the two people, but specifically the social worker, tried to explain what was going to happen. The woman on death row, who I felt was “kind of” me, like I empathised with her and felt I was going to feel What she was feeling, was really scared but she coped well. There was no lethal injection or anything in my dream but there was a kind of gas tube or something attached to the gurney. I know the girl was hoping for a quick death that involved falling asleep before dying. The social worker and the other Asian woman, and another person who I never saw, left the room, turned the lights off and lowered the shutters as the girl was dying. That was sad as she was alone. I woke up as the shutters were closing.
